BIG NEWS!
We are thrilled to inform you that Kinder Kampus has opted in to the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program! This decision was not an easy one to make as there are still areas of concern that the province has not addressed for 2023 onwards, but we feel very strongly that we want to do our part in ensuring that our families are supported and can benefit from the reduction of fees as a direct result of being part of the CWELCC program. Please review the PDF newsletter sent to each of you in HiMama with details on what this means for future payments (and credits!).
Supporting Families with Child Care Costs during COVID
As you are aware, we have been very pro-active in supporting our families for not passing screening. We thought we could continue to cover up to 2 days per month per child through December for non-attendance due to COVID and based on guidelines we shared with you. We ran out of funding to continue to do so beyond September and we hope our families will understand. The health and safety protocols we as a Centre must follow are stringent and because of illnesses which are community based, we have had more than our share of children who have not passed screening through September. We are hopeful that the decrease in fees will alleviate the inconvenience to our families.
Staffing and PD Days
As part of opting in to the CWELLC program, we are required to close the Centre for a Region wide Professional Development Day sometime early next year. I will keep you informed
We will also be adding one additional day through the year beyond the current stat holidays we are closed at present, as a means of providing our staff a center based professional development day. We will provide you with the dates well in advance (considering Easter Monday). Stay tuned.
Please also take the time to get to know our new staff members in the centre. We are so happy to have them all join our Kinder Kampus family.
Congratulations, Deborah!
Iqbal and I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Deborah Beckett, our Director of Operations and the Supervisor of Millcreek Kinder Kampus, on her 25 year anniversary with Kinder Kampus!!! I remember interviewing her all those years ago. How the years have flown. Since that time, she has become an integral part not only of Kinder Kampus, but also of our family. I am so proud of the woman and mother she is and I am especially grateful that she is such an experienced, nurturing and caring RECE who consistently gives her all to the staff she leads and the children entrusted to our care.
Finally…
We want to thank each one of you for entrusting your children to our care — we do not take that responsibility lightly. We will continue to do our very best to provide an optimal environment in which your child can grow and develop to their full potential. Please remember that we, the staff and management of Kinder Kampus, are available to answer any questions and to address any concerns you may have at any time. Feel free to call or pop into the office. Again, we will be reaching out to each family in due course regarding fees and new due dates. In the meantime, let’s celebrate that all your fees are going down!
Cheers,
Anny Nasser
