Hello Kinder Kampus Family!
These have been difficult times to navigate through, and we hope you and your family are keeping well. As the rules and regulations change in response to COVID-19, your family’s safety remains top of mind for us. To help keep us all safe, we have implemented several precautions in-line with government regulations and guidance.
You will notice a few changes to our facilities as well as our procedures to ensure the safety of your children and our staff. In our facilities we have implemented the following changes to ensure proper physical distancing:
- Adjusted hours: 7am – 6pm
- Every person arriving at the centre will be screened prior to entering, this will include a temperature check and a screening form
- Routine infection prevention and control will continue with the addition of increased sanitary precautions and physical distancing measures
- Any and all illnesses onset while at the center will have that person immediately removed and sent home
- Cohorts will be set by room so no overlap of interactions occur
- Staff have received training on all COVID-19 related procedures and enhanced safety measures
- Staff will wear PPE and adhere to social distancing guidelines
- School age children will be required to wear non-medical/cloth masks at all time indoors and outdoors where physical distancing may not be possible. Masks are recommended for those over the age of 2
- Non-essential visitors will not be permitted to enter the building
- We have removed extra furniture and equipment to maximize the ability to maintain physical distance indoors
- Toys and equipment will be consistently disinfected throughout the day
- We have implemented a divided playground and designated equipment and toys to maintain separation of cohorts
Kinder Kampus keeps up to date with current screening and protocols sent to us through the Region of Peel Health Department and Ministry of Education. All new documents will be sent to you via Hi Mama.
You can access an online and a paper COVID-19 Screening Tool for Children in School and Child Care at the links above.
Staff and essential visitors will continue to use the existing screening criteria. These screenings are meant to help keep all of our Kinder Kampus family safe. In these forms you will see two sets of questions followed by standard travel and contact questions.
- The first set of questions asks about symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or decrease or loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny or stuffy/congested nose, headache, nausea, vomiting and or diarrhea, extreme tiredness or muscle aches. Children with any of these symptoms will still be advised to stay home until they are able to consult with a medical provider and receive an alternative diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test. Please see the daily COVID-19 screening document
In Peel Region, the direction is for everyone in the household to stay home if anyone has any Covid-19 symptoms where testing is recommended. Everyone must isolate at home until the sick person has received a negative test result. This means siblings must be excluded from school and childcare.
We will continue to monitor and provide updates both here and on Hi Mama, to ensure we are all informed. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us so we can be of assistance. We are all in this together.
Stay safe!
